Born April 18, 1957, in Pueblo, Colorado and raised in Trinidad, Colorado, Azar began his career as the assistant district attorney for the Third Judicial District - the youngest attorney ever appointed to that role. Azar gained national attention for bringing the first case in what evolved into a 26-state class action against Walmart over labor practices, resulting in more than $750 million in settlements. In 2013, he won one of the largest individual cases against a football helmet manufacturer in U.S. history, securing an $11.5 million verdict against Riddell.
