He earned his B.A. in Economics from Kent State University in 1962 and his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 1969. He is admitted to the Ohio State Bar and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association. Malek is also a member of the American Association for Justice, the Ohio Association for Justice, and the Central Ohio Association for Justice.
